After School Programs

We are very excited to announce an upcoming partnership with the Tong Louie YMCA in Surrey! Starting early in 2024 we will be offering some unique after school programs. These programs will be different from our in-class workshops in quite a few ways. We will be offer 1-2 90 minute programs a week for six weeks at a time. Each six week program will offer unique themes and each week will introduce new Lego themes, activities, and building opportunities. Each class will involve a mix of learning about new and old Lego themes, building techniques, and interactive activities to use and play with the different themes. Whether an advanced junior Lego expert, or new obsessed fan, these programs will cater to all types of Lego builders. The goal of these sessions is to expose new types of Lego themes and to expand and explore the fun and creativity of building in new catagories of Lego that they havn’t tried. Some young builders only learn to build with step by step instructions and struggle with “free building” or using only their imagination. We aim to allow room to experiment learn how to build in different ways and foster the creativity and resourcefulness that each person is capable of. Over the years, Lego has introduced and discontinued many themes, parts, and pieces. Our programs will showcase some of these forgotten and hard to find gems and give them new life and show how to integrate older Lego into current techniques and pieces. Other highlights will include special activities and learning through play. Developing strengths in STEM topics, critical and creative thinking, problem solving, fine motor skills, and more are an important design of these programs. I don’t want to spoil the surprises so you will have to wait to learn more about the upcoming themes. Registration is now open for after school classes at the Tong Louie YMCA located in Surrey Panorama area. Please contact them directly for additional details. This will be for ages 6 & up. Programs will be 90 minutes long. The specific days will be annouced soon and more days may become available depending on total sign ups.
