Introduction to Braille
The Braille workshop is an interactive session aimed to bring awareness and hands on experience to learn about what it is like to read by only using the sense of touch. Tied into both English and Social Studies curriculum, students try to “crack the code” by using their sense of touch to decipher secret words spelled in Lego Braille bricks.
Certain concepts can be difficult to understand until experienced for oneself. This session is aimed to bring awareness to some of the challenges faced by others in order to foster a more inclusive environment and more accessibility.
